She gained her Master of Science in Industrial Biotechnology from the University of Naples Federico II in 2008. She then worked for several biotech companies around Italy till 2009 when she was awarded a three years National Council Research (CNR) fellowship to work as senior researcher in microbiology focusing her study on microbial fermentative processes for active substances discovery.
She also worked in several industrial biotech companies gaining relevant experiences in the development and optimization of new fermentative processes, the downstream process and in the identification, by chromatographic techniques, of bioactive molecules produced by specific microorganisms.
She worked as production manager on the isolation of high value-added products, such as enzymes and secondary metabolites, and microbial biomass. In 2018, she decided to start her own research activity by co-founding Clever Bioscience.
